#KissesforBees

I recall earlier in the summer seeing this living flower #KissesforBees installation by Burts Bee Canada in Downtown Vancouver.

Inspired by hardworking humble pollinators, Burt’s Bees is kissing back and raising awareness about the importance of supporting the Canadian Bee population within our own backyards, gardens (and balconies!). They led the charge through the creation of two living inner-city installations filled with hundreds of wildflowers providing flowers for bees to “kiss” in Vancouver and in Toronto. The installations served as local bee habitats, providing native wildflowers for bees to pollinate during a short time this past summer. For the installations, they chose plants that could be replanted to reappear year after year to feed countless native bees throughout the cities.

The #KissesforBees campaign also promoted the new line of limited edition lipsticks. With each #KissesforBees lipstick sold, Burt’s Bees will plant 100 wildflowers across the country to help support Canadian bee health, in partnership with Wildlife Preservation Canada. Each lipstick is 100% natural made with 60% post consumer recycled packaging and provides eight hours of moisture with ingredients such as Moringa and Raspberry Seed Oils, Vitamin E, and, of course, Beeswax.

Every year, Holt Renfrew’s H Project team joins forces with an outstanding designer to collaborate on an exclusive, limited-edition item. Earlier in the spring, the team partnered with elas and Burt’s Bees to offer a limited edition clutch, Flower Party, to support Pollinator Partnership Canada.

100 per cent of the proceeds from the Flower Party sales will go back to Pollinator Partnership Canada to help reach the goal of raising $100,000 in donations. Pollinator Partnership Canada is a non-for-profit dedicated to the protection of pollinators and their ecosystems.
