Throwback to Tea time at @Neverlandtea

I hope you had a wonderful long Victoria Day weekend! Did you know that the two busiest weekends for the BC Ferries in a calendar year are usually May’s Victoria Day long weekend and September’s Labour Day long weekend? Perhaps it’s because most people like to travel back and forth from Vancouver Island to the Mainland during warm weather, eh?

This long weekend, Douglas and I decided to stay in town and enjoy the odd summer-like breeze from our deck looking out at the semi-snowcapped mountains.  On one night, we shared a bottle of red wine to commemorate a family anniversary. On other nights he downed a few cold brews and as I went with other homemade tea concoctions.

In my giant mason jar, I steeped 8 tbsp of Neverland Tea’s Peter’s Promise overnight in my fridge to brew iced tea. As I was enjoying the melody of Sencha, Bancha, Kukicha, and Genmaicha green teas blended with red currents and strawberries, I thought about the last time I visited the tea salon.

Here are throwback highlights of my last visit to the Peter Pan-themed salon in the Kitsilano region in Vancouver on West Broadway.

There are towers of tea, tea cups, and saucers to be found in this beautiful salon lit by many chandeliers. 2016-neverlandTea--6

We pondered through their large selection of tea blends available for purchase while Joyce and I waited on our high-tea service.

All around the walls, guests will find many details contributing to their overall Peter-Pan theme as they enjoy their in-salon service. Joyce and I nibbled on delicious bite-sized savory sandwiches and sweet desserts from their high tea menu.

I like how much that the salon strives to provide a variety of themed-menus while providing great service.  On special holidays, there are special High-Tea menus. On other days, guests can choose from special diet menus like gluten-free or dairy-free, full dining, or having tea cocktails at the Lost Boys’ Bar.

If you’re unsure what to get for the Peter-Pan or Disney fan on your gift list, an afternoon at Neverland Tea Salon would be a great idea, especially if they also love tea. I hope there will be an Alice-in-Wonderland-themed tea salon opening in the near future so I have an excuse to dress like the Mad Hatter.
